Facilities Officer Caretaking

The Governors of Welton Primary School are looking to appoint an individual who has the relevant skills and experience to become a Caretaking Facilities Officer who will further develop the high quality and special character of our school.

The successful candidate will want to make a difference, taking pride in ensuring the school looks like a very special place for our families and young people. You will want to create an environment that demonstrates that we care about our community and the place where we spend our days must be exceptional. 

You will need to be trustworthy, flexible, self-motivated and diligent and be able to work with all members of the school community.  You will work under the direction of the Headteacher and School Business Manager, with responsibilities for the caretaking of the school site to ensure safety, security, cleanliness and sound condition of the buildings, facilities and grounds.  You will also have designated cleaning duties each day as part of a team of other premises staff with cleaning duties.

Working hours will be subject to variation, such as parents’ evenings, call-outs etc, out of hours and occasional weekend work will be required.

You will have a good standard of education and possess a proven working knowledge of building maintenance, decorating, cleaning and general caretaking.  The successful candidate will ideally have a good knowledge and experience of Health & Safety legislation.
